Grammer has 12 years of experience as a high school principal. Prior to becoming principal at Midland, he was principal of Crane High School in Crane, Texas, for nine years. He also has experience as an elementary principal and high school teacher in Crane ISD.

La Porte High School has an outstanding reputation and I am proud to become part of the team of educators working to ensure that all students in La Porte are prepared for college or career."
He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas, and is currently working on his doctorate in educational leadership at Lamar University. In 2012, he was named the Region 18 High School Principal of the Year by the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals.
Grammer will take over for Todd Schoppe, who recently became the district’s director of athletics and physical education.
