I am a LPHS graduate. I graduated from UHCL with B.B.A. in Industrial Management and a M.A. in Secondary Education. This is my 29th year at LPHS. I teach business classes such as financial literacy and international business/logistics, career preparation (school/work co-op program), and medical coding and insurance billing certification program. I have completed and active in many community and civic programs such as Citizen Police Academy, basic and advanced classes, Community Emergency Response Team certifications, and trained Red Cross disaster relief volunteer. I am a member of both La Porte and Bay Area community awareness committees for the chemical industry. I enjoy teaching students about business and career development, and assisting students to acquire valuable work skills for career success.
I continually seek more practical knowledge and abilities in careers in which I instruct. Through out the year and summers I job shadow and escort students in college and work experiences in many high demand career fields I was nationally certified as a manufacturing and logistics technician and college instructor in November 2013 and as a Medical Billing and Coding Insurance Specialist May 2015. I currently work at the Port of Houston Authority's Bayport Cruise Terminal on weekends as an embarkation agent for NCL and Princess cruise companies.
My conference period has moved to a new time due to a schedule change of class periods I teach. My conference time is now 12:48-1:36 pm. Tutorial times must be scheduled by appointment due to job visitations of students' worksites I must regularly visit for Career Preparation students.
