Welcome to my classroom for the 2013-2014 school year!

I am excited to start this school year!  I love my job and have an absolute passion for what I do! I believe that ALL students can learn and I strive hard to foster an evironment where my students get excited about learning.  I believe that parent communication is a vital part of each student's success, so if you ever have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact me.

My Background:
I attended school in LPISD and graduated from La Porte High School.  I absolutely love La Porte! I have been teaching for 15 years  with 13 of those years being in LPISD.   I am beginning my 3rd year at LPHS (Go Bulldogs)! I have served the district as a PPCD teacher, elementary teacher, junior high teacher and high school teacher.  In addition to these positions, I have also served as the Life Skills and PPCD Instructional Specialist and Assistive Technology Specialist. I graduated with my bachelors degree in education from the University of Houston Clear Lake and am currently attending graduate school at  the University of St. Thomas. I should complete my masters program in the summer of 2015.

I look forward to working with your student this year in English Language Arts, Math and Vocational Training. If you have any questions or concerns throughout the year, please do not hesitate to contact me at 281-604-7610 or email me at murraya@lpisd.org.  My conference period is 8:15-9:05 M-F.  I am also available to meet after school.  Contact me if you would like to set up an appointment.
