Welcome to Coach Harr's Social Studies Class!
This course examines the cause and effect events leading to major historical events and their impact. Along the way we will also study important historical figures and places. Topics will include: Dawn of Humans and Civilization, the Neolithic Revolution, River Valley Civilizations, Early Civilizations in the Americas, Ancient Greece, the Roman Empire, Trade, Major World Religions, the Middle Ages, Renaissance and Reformation, European Exploration, Political Revolutions, the Industrial Revolution, Imperialism, World War 1, World War 2.
This course is the study of society, including patterns of social relationships, social interaction, and culture. We will examine groups of people, how they are, what they do, why they do it, and how they interact with other groups. Topics covered will be: Sociological Perspectives, Culture, Socialization, Social Structure and Social Class, Religion, Political and Economics Institutions.
