Meet Mrs. Boyd
Erin is a LPHS alumni. She graduated from La Porte in 2000 and was a member and a two-year officer of the Chatos. Upon graduation she attended Kilgore College and was a member of the World Famous Kilgore College Rangerettes. She earned her Associates of Arts at Kilgore and transferred to the University of Houston to pursue her Bachelors in Journalism and Public Relations. Throughout her time at UH she was the choreographer and assistant director of a competitive dance team, Texas Dance Classic, and she competed in the collegiate division. During that time Erin also worked for Star Makers Dance Company, choreographing and teaching at summer dance camps. After graduating from UH she returned to Kilgore to manage the Gussie Nell Davis Rangerette Residence while she continued her education at Le Tourneau University earning her Master’s Degree in Business Management. She returned to Houston in 2014 and began subbing in the LPHS dance department, and working for Crowd Pleasers as an adjudicator. Erin still remains very active in the Rangerette organization having served as a board member and President of the Rangerette Forever Alumni, and is currently serving as the secretary. This is Erin’s first official year as dance teacher at La Porte and she is very excited and happy to “be home.”
